Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 20 Year Old is one of the most revered bourbons in the world, drawn from the Van Winkle family's wheated bourbon stocks and patiently aged for two decades at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky. Wheat in place of rye in the mash bill gives the spirit a softer, rounder character that takes especially well to long maturation.

The colour is a deep, polished amber. On the nose it is layered and inviting, with sweet vanilla, citrus zest, dried fruit and a hint of sherried richness sitting alongside seasoned oak. The palate is full and silky, opening with toffee and fig before moving through baking spice, soft leather and dark chocolate, with a long, creamy finish underpinned by caramel and gentle oak tannin.

Bottled in tiny quantities each year, the 20 Year carries the depth and complexity that only the rarest and best-resting barrels can produce, and remains a benchmark for what extra-aged wheated bourbon can be.
