Opthimus 21 is a refined sipping rum from the Dominican Republic, produced using the traditional solera system in which younger and older spirits are gradually married together for consistency and complexity. The result is a rum of real polish and character.
It pours a deep amber and offers an intense, layered nose of caramel, toffee and dried fruit over a subtle note of oak. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, showing vanilla, honey, ripe fruit and a whisper of woody spice, all carried through to a long, gently sweet finish.
