Nervi-Conterno Jefferson Metodo Classico 2019 750ml

Jefferson is one of the great curiosities of Alto Piemonte: a traditional-method sparkling rosé made entirely from Nebbiolo, the same noble grape behind Nervi-Conterno's still Gattinara wines. The cuvée is finished as Dosage Zero, with extended time on lees (around three years) that lends complexity without obscuring the variety's perfumed signature.

The 2019 pours a delicate pink with copper reflections and shows a fine, persistent bead. The nose is intensely fruit-driven, with wild strawberry, raspberry and red-berry notes lifted by a bright citrus thread. The palate is fresh and persistent, with a pleasantly mineral, finely chiselled structure and excellent balance, the dry, bone-clean finish drawing out long and clean.

An interesting and elegant aperitif sparkler that also stands up at the table; pair with cured salumi, crudo, salmon tartare or roast chicken.
