From 50-year-old vines in the south-facing Stielweg vineyard, this Riesling captures the depth and vitality of Künstler’s oldest parcels. The 24-hectare site is defined by loamy clay soils with high sand content and low calcium carbonate, producing wines with lively acidity and exceptional ageing potential. Künstler farms 4.7 hectares here.
Hand-harvested fruit is destemmed, gently pressed, and fermented cool—primarily in stainless steel with 80% in large neutral oak. The wine then rests on fine lees for six months, gaining texture, balance and purity. The result is a dry Riesling of remarkable precision, energy and finesse.
“This astonishing wine has gigantic flinty and citrusy complexity next to the deep stone fruit character… incredible concentration for a non-GG dry German Riesling. Off-the-scale power and energy in the finish, but everything remains fine and precise
