A landmark release from Taiwan's celebrated Kavalan distillery, the 15 Year Old Four Cask marks the first time the pioneering producer has bottled a whisky with an age statement. Distilled in Yilan on Taiwan's humid north eastern coast, where the warm subtropical climate accelerates maturation, this 2025 Edition is a showcase of everything the distillery has learned across fifteen years in the barrel.
As the name suggests, the spirit is matured in four different cask types, ex-Bourbon, Oloroso sherry, Ruby Port and puncheon, each contributing its own layer to the finished whisky. The result is deep and richly textured, with aromas of caramel, toffee, walnut and dark dried fruit lifted by a twist of tangerine and plum.
On the palate it is complex and generous, weaving dark chocolate, raisin and candied citrus through a savoury thread of woody spice and warm cinnamon. The finish is long and gently drying, rewarding slow, considered sipping.
A limited edition and a genuine collector's piece, this expression captures the ambition that has made Kavalan one of the most awarded single malt distilleries in the world.
