Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select is a Tennessee whiskey bottled from one individually chosen barrel at a time, rather than blended across many. The barrels are selected from the upper floors of the distillery's barrelhouses in Lynchburg, where the widest temperature swings drive the whiskey deeper into the oak. Because every barrel matures a little differently, each bottling carries its own subtle character.
Like all Jack Daniel's whiskey, it is charcoal mellowed through sugar maple charcoal before ageing in new charred American oak barrels. It opens with a fruity, vanilla-led aroma and a hint of spice, followed by warm caramel and spice on the palate with bright fruit and sweet aromatics, finishing with oak, clove and banana.
This gift set pairs the bottle with a Glencairn crystal snifter glass, the tulip-shaped tasting glass designed to gather the whiskey's aromas towards the nose.
