Hendrick's Lunar Scottish Gin 700ml
Lunar comes from Hendrick's Cabinet of Curiosities, the experimental strand of the range where master distiller Lesley Gracie works outside the boundaries of the core gin. It was conceived at the Gin Palace in South Ayrshire and built around the idea of night, taking the house cucumber and rose signature somewhere warmer and darker.
The nose is heady with night scented flowers, citrus oils and exotic spice, the familiar rose and cucumber thread still recognisable underneath. On the palate it turns unexpectedly spice led, juniper and black peppercorn framed by crisp apple and floral sweetness, with a smooth and slightly velvety texture.
The finish is floral with a delicate peppery warmth. It makes an unusual Gin and Tonic, though it rewards sipping neat or over a single large cube just as much.
