Grahams Quinta Dos Malvedos 2015 Port 750ml

An exceptional Port wine from experienced producers, Graham's, is the Quinta dos Malvedos 2015. This single vintage, single "Quinta" Port showcases the quality of the growing area and the wines produced there. Quinta dos Malvedos, one of the Douro Valley's esteemed Quintas, has a longstanding association with Graham's Port, dating back to the company's acquisition of the land in 1890. The name Malvedos was derived from the rapids that used to flow in front of the estate before the damming of the Douro River in the 1960s.

The 2015 vintage is noteworthy, having been declared by the esteemed Noval Port shippers. It is interesting to note that it was immediately followed by another vintage, 2016. It is uncommon for two vintages to be declared consecutively, as tradition dictates that there can only be three declared vintage years in a decade. While 2015 was somewhat overshadowed by 2016 due to the latter's higher yields, 2015 still offers exceptional vintage quality, particularly in the form of single Quinta offerings such as this one.

This bottling is a robust and tannic Port with prominent flavors of vibrant red fruits, dry spices, blackberries, red grapes, toffee, dark oak, and subtly acidic blackcurrants. It can be enjoyed now but will also age gracefully for a decade.
