Edouard Confuron has quickly become one of the names to watch in the Cote de Nuits, crafting elegant, thoughtfully made reds from a young domaine rooted in Vosne-Romanee. This Gevrey-Chambertin is drawn from vines farmed organically, with a portion of whole-bunch fermentation adding lift and energy to the finished wine.
In the glass it shows a mid-crimson, purple-tinged hue and an attractively perfumed bouquet of red cherry, wild berries and gentle floral notes. The palate is refined and discreet, carried by silky tannins and fine length that reflect a light, considered touch rather than sheer power.
