From Domaine de la Vougeraie, the Boisset family's prestigious estate based in Premeaux-Prissey between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1999 to bring together the finest Burgundian vineyard holdings the Boisset group had acquired since 1964, the domaine today farms around 44 hectares spread across more than 30 appellations and is certified organic, with biodynamic principles applied throughout the vineyards.
A village-level Chambolle-Musigny assembled from a clutch of mid-slope climats sitting just below Bonnes-Mares, Les Véroilles, Les Argillères, Les Baudes, Les Condemennes and Les Chardannes. 100% Pinot Noir, the soils a mix of limestone-rich loams and more clay-heavy parcels, planted on east-facing terroirs. Expect a delicate yet structured wine, more powerful than Chambolle's reputation as a 'feminine' village would suggest, with red fruit, floral lift and a fine-grained, caressing palate.
52% whole-bunch fermentation by gravity, with no added yeasts or enzymes, followed by aging in oak barrels and a final period in stainless steel before bottling.
