Compass Box Hedonism 2024 is the second in a series of limited annual releases that reimagine the brand's iconic blended grain Scotch whisky. Crafted by Lead Whiskymaker James Saxon, this edition showcases the last of Compass Box's stocks of grain whiskies distilled at Cameronbridge in the 1990s — a period when the Fife distillery was producing a distinctive high-corn content grain spirit. The whiskies were aged almost entirely in first-fill American oak bourbon barrels.
The nose is a masterclass in patisserie aromas — exotic vanilla, clove-infused caramel, honey, candied lemon, and graham cracker, layered with nutmeg and seasoned oak. On the palate, waves of creamy custard, honey, and mascarpone unfold with syrupy texture, while banana, vanilla, and light spices add vibrancy. The finish is elegant and refined, with a delicate citrus note rounding off the experience beautifully.
Bottled at 43% ABV, this is a richly indulgent whisky that lives up to its hedonistic name — a limited release for those who appreciate grain whisky at its most luxurious.
