Cherry Chouffe comes from Brasserie d'Achouffe, the gnome-adorned brewery nestled in the Belgian Ardennes. It is built on the brewery's McChouffe, a dark Belgian ale, which is blended with cherries to create a rich and characterful fruit beer.

The brewery tells the story of the Chouffe gnomes storing their cherry harvest in the brewery loft until the old ceiling gave way, sending the fruit tumbling into a vat of McChouffe below. The result pours ruby-tinted with a full cherry aroma and notes of strawberry, almond, spice and port. The palate balances the sweetness and acidity of the cherries, with a round, soft body and a gently spiced, satisfying finish with very slight bitterness.

Serve chilled in a tulip glass. It makes a lovely partner for chocolate desserts, fruit tarts, duck or a cheese board.
