Buffalo Trace is one of the most awarded distilleries in the world, and its flagship bourbon is loved for its dependable core of vanilla, brown sugar, toffee and caramel. This single-barrel pick takes that familiar character somewhere bolder. Extra age and a higher bottling strength push the oak and spice to the front, adding real depth, weight and length while staying true to the toffee-and-brown-sugar heart that makes Buffalo Trace what it is.
Nose: Classic oak leads, layered with rich brown sugar and toffee and a warm lift of spice. The additional age brings genuine depth and a well-developed, mature character.
Palate: Full and oak-forward, dialling up the wood influence. Firm tannins bring a lovely chew and a weighty, satisfying mouthfeel, while the traditional Buffalo Trace core of vanilla, brown sugar, toffee and caramel sits underneath, carried by a gentle rye spice. The higher bottling strength stretches the flavour long across the palate.
Finish: Long and warming, with caramel spice rounding off the oak. The single-barrel wood character pushes a touch more spice through the back end, closing on those classic Buffalo Trace hints of mint and molasses.
