Special Cuvée is the flagship Brut of Champagne Bollinger, and one of the most recognisable styles in the region. Pinot Noir leads the blend, anchoring it with the richness, structure and depth of red fruit that are the unmistakable signature of the house, complemented by Chardonnay and Meunier drawn largely from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards.
A significant portion of the wine is fermented in barrel, and generous use of reserve wines aged under cork gives it remarkable depth and aromatic complexity. Expect a powerful, layered nose of ripe red fruit, brioche and wet stone, leading to a rounded yet tense palate with an ultra-fine mousse, a chalky, silky texture and notes of grapefruit zest, almond and toasted bread.
