Spindrift is a hazy pale ale from Boatrocker, the Braeside brewery founded in 2009 by Matt and Andrea Houghton. One of Australia's earliest craft beer names, Boatrocker is known for Matt's love of Belgian styles and barrel ageing, and added a distilling arm in 2017.
This one sits at the paler, hazier end of the style. It is soft and easy-drinking, with a pillowy malt body and spritzy carbonation carrying aromas of passionfruit, fresh peach and lemony citrus.
The palate follows with juicy peach and tropical fruit over an oaty-smooth base, kept bright by low to moderate bitterness and a crisp, clean finish.
