The Basket Range estate has two blocks of Pinot Noir, one facing north and the other south. This wine is sourced from the cooler, south-facing block, usually picked between two and three weeks after the north-facing fruit. The low-yielding block has a clonal mix of MV6 and 777 and sits on deeper, loamier soils. In the milder conditions of 2023, the fruit was mostly destemmed and fermented in vats with gentle pumpovers throughout. The wine spent over 10 months maturing in French oak (25% new).
