Aultmore is a Speyside distillery long prized by blenders for its clean, grassy and subtly floral house style. This 15 Year Old expression takes that elegant Speyside character and gives it a vibrant Italian twist, finishing the whisky in casks that once held ruby Marsala, the sweet fortified wine of Sicily made from red grapes.
Matured for fifteen years in American oak before its time in the Marsala casks, the whisky pours with warm colour and layers of ripe summer fruit. Expect succulent cherry, juicy plum and a bright tang of pomegranate, all wrapped around Aultmore's signature smoothness and gentle honeyed malt.
Bottled without chill filtration and with no added colour, this limited release is deep, refined and moreish. It rewards slow sipping, whether enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water to open up its fruit-laden character.
