Linie Aquavit 500ml

The Norwegian Linie Aquavit is known for its long voyage, a tradition that has played an important role in the maturation of Linie for more than 200 years. In 1780, Catharina Lysholm built the vessel "Trondhiems Prøve" together with her brother, who was an important merchant. In 1805, the ship set sail for the East Indies with a cargo of potato aquavit and other goods. Five barrels of the aquavit were not sold and were sent back to Norway in 1807. When they returned, they discovered that the aquavit's taste had become softer and stronger on the long voyage. Linie Aquavit was born. Today, every bottle of Linie Aquavit can still be read about the four-month sea voyage in sherry casks. On the back of the label, you can read the departure date, the return date after crossing the equator twice, and the name of the ship.
