Like each of the estate's wines, it carries the name of one of the family's granddaughters, with a label illustrated by the artist Michael Leunig.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInspired by the merlot and cabernet franc based wines of Saint-Émilion, Hannah is made from just a single barrel each year. In 2024 cabernet franc takes a slightly larger share of the blend than merlot, giving a beautifully fragrant wine on both the nose and the palate. The perfume of cabernet franc leads, while merlot adds a juicy core of fruit, softness and weight, carried by ripe tannins.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe fruit comes from mature vines, many of them original plantings, grown on the estate's small cool climate vineyard on the edge of Melbourne.
