Andrea took over a family farm in 1986 and released his first wines in the early 1990s, quickly earning a cult reputation. The Rosso is produced in very limited quantities from vineyards that in many cases are classified to produce Brunello.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e100% Sangiovese (Brunello) from around 7 hectares of vines in the township of Castelnuovo dell'Abate, grown on loose, stony soils with a warm microclimate. Expect a silky, fragrant red with wild strawberry, crushed cherry, dried herbs and savoury spice, leading into a bright, focused palate with juicy acidity, fine tannins and the kind of tension and length that punch well above its weight class.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGrapes ferment spontaneously on the skins for 25–30 days, including around a week of cryomaceration under dry ice to preserve fruit freshness.
