The name means dirty and a little uncouth, which in the Australian idiom counts as a term of endearment, and it sums up their deliberately hands-off approach.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fruit comes from the Upper Yarra, principally the Full Moon vineyard at Gladysdale, one of the cooler and higher corners of the region. Intervention in the cellar is kept to a minimum so that texture and complexity are allowed to develop rather than being polished away.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe result is a Chardonnay with genuine character: grapefruit and white peach cut with struck match and flint, a taut mineral line through the middle and a savoury, chewy texture that lingers.
