Their Langhe Rosso is the house's entry point, a pure Nebbiolo made from the estate's younger vines in its great crus, including Pira in Barolo and Pajè in Barbaresco. Some of these parcels were replanted after mudslide damage in the 1990s, and as the vines are not yet old enough for the family's single-vineyard bottlings, their fruit is declassified into this wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBecause it blends Nebbiolo from both Barolo and Barbaresco, it is labelled simply as Langhe, but it is made with exactly the same care as the top wines. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts, followed by gentle extraction through long macerations of around two months, and the wine is then aged for an extended period in large neutral oak and concrete before release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe result is a Nebbiolo of genuine class and character, offering red cherry, raspberry, rose petal and dried herbs with earthy, savoury undertones.
