Chardonnay has been grown in this part of France for centuries and behaves quite differently here to the way it does on the Côte d'Or, giving a wine that is leaner in profile and more overtly saline, with the marl adding a savoury grip.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eExpect citrus, green apple and white blossom on the nose, with a light nutty note from time in barrel. The palate is fresh and finely built, with a chalky texture, a distinctly salty edge and a dry, persistent finish that leaves the mouth watering.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePierre-Vincent Girardin, son of Vincent Girardin and thirteenth generation of a Burgundian family, set up his own domaine at Meursault in 2016.
