The property sits on a mosaic of marine, alluvial and volcanic soils, with vineyards planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe 2021 Bolgheri Superiore is a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. Despite a hot, dry summer with three months of drought, the vines drew on water reserves from winter and spring rain, resulting in a wine that is intense, fresh and vertical in character, with fine, ripe, round tannins. The nose shows signature notes of Mediterranean shrub, herbs, cypress berries, classic blackberry and dark fruit, while the palate is rich and concentrated with a vibrant, enduring finish. Alcohol is around 15%.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe varieties are fermented in stainless steel and concrete, with malolactic fermentation taking place mainly in barrel (70% new, 30% second-use).
