Like Luce, it is a Merlot-Sangiovese blend with Merlot taking the lead. The 2020 shows an intense purplish red with a rich and complex bouquet of ripe cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant, balsamic eucalyptus and mint, and toasted notes of coffee and hazelnut.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGrapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel at 28°C for around 10-12 days, followed by roughly 18-22 days' maceration and malolactic fermentation in steel. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barriques — part new, part second-use — with a small proportion of American oak.
