It was launched in the early 1990s and is made with the same care as the grand vin, from the same holdings and the same team.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon and filled out with Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot in some years. Fermentation takes place in the estate's oak vats and the wine is matured in French oak barrels, typically around half of them new, before bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt shows the Mouton signature in a more immediate register: cassis, blackberry and dark plum lifted by cedar, graphite and sweet spice, with supple tannins and a polished finish.
