Home to some of the estate's newest plantings, the block carries a modern clonal mix planted at 5,800 vines per hectare on free-draining yellow-grey dermosol soils, with the vines now around 16 years old.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2024 season followed a wet winter and a stable spring, with rain through December and January calling for careful canopy work before warm, dry conditions brought harvest forward slightly. Yields were below average, but the fruit came in clean and ripe. It was hand-picked, gently destemmed with 15% whole bunches retained, and fermented spontaneously with ambient yeasts in a wooden vat over 16 days. The wine spent 12 months in French oak barriques and puncheons (18% new) and was bottled without fining or filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe nose shows dark cherry, pomegranate and wild raspberry with dried flowers, blood orange and exotic spice. The palate is vibrant and finely detailed, carried by silky tannins and fresh natural acidity, finishing long with dark cherry, blood orange and gentle spice.
