The block takes its name from the geological fault that bounds it, and its soils hold less ironstone and more deep clay than the neighbouring Farrago block, giving an earthy depth and a fuller, richer palate.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2024 vintage followed a wet winter and a stable spring, with rain in December and January requiring careful canopy management before warm, dry weather brought harvest forward slightly. The fruit was gently whole-bunch pressed directly into 350 litre French oak barrels (20% new) and fermented spontaneously with ambient yeasts. It spent 11 months on lees without bâtonnage, was racked once just before bottling, and was bottled unfined with minimal filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLifted aromas of grapefruit pith, lime blossom and white peach are layered with flint, almond meal and fresh bread. The palate is taut, precise and finely detailed, with citrus and white stone fruit riding a chalky line of acidity to a long, savoury finish.
