The block's clay soils carry a high content of ironstone pebbles, lending a distinctly mineral, linear profile to the wines grown there.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cool 2020 season produced a particularly taut and restrained expression, closer in spirit to Chablis than to richer styles of Chardonnay. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed into French oak, about 20% new, fermented with wild yeasts and left on lees for close to a year before bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe nose offers grapefruit, lemon pith and stone fruit with a mineral, wet slate note and a light nutty touch from the oak. On the palate it is elegant and intense, with focused citrus fruit, fine acidity and a long, clean finish.
