Peter and Charles Symington set aside the finest lots from an excellent Douro harvest for long term cask ageing, and the wine has spent decades in wood since.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the glass it still holds a deep crimson centre, ringed by the orange-brown rim that only long cask ageing produces. The wine combines opulence with grace, layering dried fruit, caramel and nutty, spiced complexity over a smooth, mellow palate of real length.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eServe it lightly chilled.
