It is a low yielding site, and the Pinot Noir it produces has always carried a bit of grit and a bit of muscle.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGiant Steps built its name on single vineyard wines from cool climate sites like this one, and Sexton is the boldest of the range. The 2025 season began with a wet winter that built good moisture reserves, then turned warm and dry through spring with excellent flowering and fruit set, bringing on an early and fast moving harvest.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIn the glass, look for black cherry, blood plum and stewed rhubarb, with a flicker of iodine and earth and floral notes buried deep in the fruit. The structure is firm and serious, with chewy tannins and a long, powerful finish. This is the most closed of the Giant Steps single vineyard Pinots on release, so decant it or give it a few years.
