Their vineyards are farmed organically with some biodynamic practices and picked by hand, and the wines are made without additions apart from a splash of sulphur at bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eScary Gully is one of the most distinctive sites in the Adelaide Hills, a windswept ridge in Forest Range at around 620 metres above sea level. Owned by Mike and Jacqui Guerin and farmed by Gentle Folk, the three hectare vineyard was planted in stages from 1984, with Pinot Noir clones including Geisenheim 18, MV6, D5V12 and D2V4.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe soils are shallow and rocky, a light loamy clay over sandstone with plenty of schist and quartz rubble, and the cool, exposed position keeps yields low.
