The hill takes its name from the wild violets that flower in spring, and that floral signature carries straight through into the wine. The Vaira family have farmed this site since the 1880s and it remains the last parcel they harvest each year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2017 is layered with violets, raspberry and rose lifted by hints of incense, marasca cherry, lavender and white truffle. The palate is ripe and inviting at this stage, framed by building tannic structure and notes of fresh red cherry, blood orange and clove.
