The beer is named in honour of Mary of Burgundy, the duchess who was born in Brussels in 1457 and whose portrait graces the label.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter primary and secondary fermentation, the beer is matured in oak casks, and the final blend combines a younger beer aged for around eight months with an older beer aged for eighteen months. It pours a deep reddish brown with a fine head. The aroma and palate offer ripe cherry and plum alongside notes of oak, vanilla and balsamic, with a sweet and sour balance that finishes fruity, tart and refreshing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eServe lightly chilled in a tulip or wine glass.
