Mee Godard was born in South Korea, raised in France and trained in Oregon, Montpellier and Burgundy. She bought vineyards in three of Morgon's best sites in 2013, and the six-hectare estate is farmed organically with vines averaging around 60 years old.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGrand Cras is one of Morgon's six climats. It lies south-east of the Côte du Py, on a mix of alluvial, schist and granitic soils. Mee ferments the fruit in concrete with a high share of whole bunches and a long maceration, then matures the wine in oak barrels and bottles it unfiltered. The result is an elegant, silky Morgon with blackberry, raspberry and forest berry aromas, a touch of dried violet and damp earth. The palate is velvety, with very fine tannins and a long, refined finish carrying a subtle peppery spice.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDecant briefly and serve it in a large Pinot Noir glass with duck breast, pork cutlets or a mushroom and thyme tart.
