The vineyard sits high on the slope in the Blagny sector at around 300 metres, just above the famous Meursault Perrières and close to the Puligny boundary. Facing south to southeast and sheltered by a rocky outcrop to the north, it has thin clay-limestone soils over limestone bedrock. Once planted to Pinot Noir, the parcel is now entirely Chardonnay, with vines planted in 1995 and 2004.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Leflaive family has lived in Puligny-Montrachet since 1717, and its vineyards have been farmed biodynamically for decades, with Biodyvin certification since 1998. Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, pressed slowly in a pneumatic press, then fermented in oak casks, 22 percent new, before 12 months in barrel and six months in tank.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2022 season delighted Burgundy's growers with healthy yields and high quality. Summer was hot, punctuated by heatwaves in July and early August, but cooler nights and light mid-August rain helped the vines finish ripening in good balance, and the domaine began picking on 25 August.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cool, elevated site gives a Meursault of unusual tension: fresh and saline, with green apple, hazelnut and a subtle smoky edge leading to a brisk, mineral finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eVintages may vary.
