Domaine de Montille farm a small parcel here, a little under half a hectare.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wine is dense and aromatic, and typically Meursault only up to a point: there is yellow orchard fruit and white flowers, along with a subtle grilled, smoky note, but the defining feature is a cool mineral freshness that runs straight through the middle of the wine and out into a long, taut finish. Richness and tension are held in unusually fine balance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEtienne de Montille took full control of the family domaine in 2001 and converted the vineyards to biodynamic farming. His stated aim is more purity and less extraction, letting fruit and site speak rather than structure, and the whites show that thinking clearly. This will reward years in the cellar.
