The palate is precise and finely structured, with a chalky grain running through it, a core of ripe citrus fruit and a long, dry, distinctly stony finish. A little bottle age brings out the more savoury, honeyed side of the wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe de Villaine family farms three appellations in the Côte Chalonnaise: Bouzeron for Aligoté, Rully for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and Mercurey for Pinot Noir.
