The style here is broad-shouldered rather than delicate, and in a cellar that leans heavily on whole bunch fermentation the result gains an extra layer of perfume and spice on top of that natural weight.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBlack cherry, blackcurrant and violet lead the nose, with woodland spice, a touch of licorice and a savoury undertone. The palate is firm and well built, with ripe dark fruit, fine but noticeable tannins and a long, earthy finish that shows the stems in the best way.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDavid Duband works out of Chevannes, a small village up in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. His father Pierre started the domaine in the early 1960s and David took over in 1991, converting every vineyard to organic farming by 2006 and building the range out through a long partnership with François Feuillet, who owns old parcels in Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis that Duband farms.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eVintages may vary.
