Its pure Cabernet Franc reds are held up as the benchmark for what the variety can achieve anywhere in the world.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLe Clos is the estate's foundation wine, drawn from around ten small parcels spread across three communes, roughly four and a half hectares in total. The blend brings together clay and limestone plots along with sandier ground on a gently sloping hill, a combination of clays and free draining wind blown sands that suits Cabernet Franc particularly well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFermentation runs on native yeasts, with a long four to six week maceration in open top cement vats and deliberately gentle extraction, followed by eighteen to twenty four months in small barrels, all of them neutral so nothing sits between the fruit and the site.
