The Onkaparinga Vineyard lies along the upper north-western ridges of Blewitt Springs, where old vines grow in deep sandy soils over ironstone, shale and quartz pebbles. Clarendon Hills regards it as one of its Grand Cru Syrah vineyards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe low-yielding vines are hand-picked and fermented with wild yeast, with around 60% of the fruit kept as whole berries. The wine then matures for 18 months in one to five-year-old French oak and is bottled at the winery without fining or filtration, in a small production run.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBlue and purple florals and warm spice lead the way on the nose, followed by boysenberry, blueberry, wild raspberry, blackberry and a hint of crème de violette, lifted by clove and pepper.
