It carries the name of the Lynch family, Irish emigrants who owned it in the eighteenth century, and has been in the hands of the Cazes family since 1939.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe vineyard runs to around 100 hectares of deep Pauillac gravel. Cabernet Sauvignon leads at roughly 60 to 70 per cent, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot making up the balance, and the wine spends about eighteen months in French oak with a high proportion of new barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLynch-Bages has long been prized for delivering classed growth structure with real generosity. Dense cassis and blackberry come with cedar, tobacco, smoke and warm spice, carried on a broad, mouth filling palate with ripe tannins.
