The heart of the property is L'Enclos, a walled block of around 47 hectares of deep gravel closest to the river, and the grand vin is drawn exclusively from it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCabernet Sauvignon makes up about three quarters of the blend, with Merlot and small amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. The wine is matured for roughly two years in new French oak. Since the 2012 vintage the estate has stepped away from the en primeur system, holding each wine in its own cellars and releasing it only when the team considers it ready.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLatour is the most powerful of the Pauillac First Growths. Dense cassis and black plum sit against cedar, graphite and a briny, iodine edge, framed by firm tannins and carried by great length.
