The name comes from a corner of the vineyard where the angelus bells of three nearby churches could be heard ringing at once, and a golden bell has become the estate's emblem.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe property covers around 39 hectares, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc in close to equal measure and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. The unusually high share of Cabernet Franc is a hallmark of the house. Parcels are picked and vinified separately, and the wine is matured for up to eighteen months in French oak with a generous proportion of new barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAngélus is rich and dramatic in style: black cherry, blackberry and plum with violets, mocha, liquorice and toasty spice, built on ripe, plush tannins and a long, warming finish.
