Now certified organic, the family works its hillside sites by hand and ages its Nebbiolo in large, untoasted Slavonian oak casks so that fruit and place, rather than oak, define each wine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Barolo is drawn from vineyards across Barolo, Monforte d'Alba and Novello in the south-western part of the zone, planted on a mix of clay, silt and sandy soils at around 300 metres. After a comparatively short maceration, the wine spends two years in large, seasoned oak casks followed by a year in bottle before release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt shows a classic Barolo profile of red berries, sour cherry and dried rose petal, with notes of liquorice, orange peel, undergrowth and gentle spice.
