Kostas Rind Chardonnay is named for the schoolteacher and mentor who first introduced the family to fine wine, and the label has been part of the range since the earliest Bindi releases.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fruit comes from the lower Chardonnay plantings, established in 1988 on volcanic soil over clay at around 500 metres of altitude. The wine is fermented in barrel with indigenous yeast and no additions, then aged for close to a year on its lees in French oak, only a small proportion of it new.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe style is tightly wound and mineral. Grapefruit, white peach and lemon curd sit over struck flint, almond and a saline, chalky line, with the lees work adding texture without weight.
