The name itself refers to that stoniness, and the wines it gives are the most mineral and most finely strung in the commune.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBenjamin Leroux works this cuvee with a high proportion of whole bunches, well over two thirds, yet the stems barely register on a nose of striking purity and mineral lift. The palate is medium bodied and beautifully proportioned, built on dark berry fruit with a fine, chalky tannin structure and a long, cool, stony finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLeroux was born and raised in Beaune, started at the town's Lycee Viticole at fifteen and was regisseur at Domaine du Comte Armand in Pommard by twenty four. He set up his own small merchant house in Beaune in 2007 and now works across roughly fifty appellations of the Cote d'Or, treating each wine according to what the season provides.
