When the Beaune-born winemaker first began making wine under his own name in 2001, while still managing Domaine du Comte Armand, it was with purchased grapes from Auxey-Duresses and Meursault. He founded his own domaine and négoce in 2007.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis white Auxey-Duresses is drawn from parcels along the border with Meursault, namely Les Hautés, La Macabrée with its shallow stony soils, and Les Boutonniers on clay, with vines planted between 1946 and 1985. The exact blend shifts with each vintage. The vineyards sit at around 350 metres, on white marl and limestone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fruit is pressed directly, lightly settled and fermented with indigenous yeasts in foudres with around 10% new oak, then aged for 12 months.
