In the glass it's bright, perfumed and medium-bodied, with red cherry, alpine strawberry, dried herbs, graphite and a subtle floral lift, carried on the fine, 'al dente' tannins and bright acidity that have become a hallmark of the label.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHand-picked in early March, the fruit was fermented with around 20% whole bunches and 80% whole berries. This wine is drawn entirely from the close-planted MV6 block at the Lance vineyard in St Andrews, planted in 1989 at 8,300 vines per hectare - remarkably tight spacing that pushes the roots deep and encourages small, concentrated berries.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt's a more structured, serious expression of Yarra Valley Pinot, with bright red and dark cherry, alpine strawberry, bergamot, subtle florals and fine savoury spice.
